May Church Council Highlights

The church columns are being repaired and repainted this week.

The Board of Trustees recommends no more money be put into the old parsonage.  The church will need to make a decision about housing for the new Associate Pastor.

55+ and Alive enjoyed a Low Country Boil at the Foskey’s for their April meeting with 45 in attendance. Their next get-together is scheduled for Monday, May 18 to the Smith Farm and the group will leave from the church in the vans at 5:30 p.m.  Please call the Lisenbys or the Torpys by Friday night, May 15 to make your reservations.

Wilder Smith is headed back to Honduras this month.

Mac Barron is the new Scout Master for Troop 75.

Pre-school graduation will be 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 14. The Pre-school still has a few openings for the upcoming school year and applications can be downloaded from the website.

Vacation Bible School is June 8-10 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Volunteers are still needed. Please check out the Giving Tree in the hallway on the way to the Sunday School classrooms or contact Melanie Frye, Melinda Hall or Missy Brenton.  VBS registration is now available online.

The Wednesday Night Supper, the children & youth program, and the small group Bible study will conclude this week for the school year and resume in early September.

Dr. Derden’s Bible study will wrap up on May 20.

The Baccalaureate Service is scheduled for May 24, with a lunch to follow.

South Georgia Conference of The UMC’s Annual Conference will be held June 3-6 in Tifton, GA.
