Trustees: Work will begin soon on expanding the bottom steps to the choir loft and anchoring the chairs. The committee is currently considering what to do with the old parsonage.

Worship: Judy McWhorter announced they are working on scheduling the Christmas decorating.

Preschool: Melinda Hall reported the children will have their Fall Festival on October 28 and will participate in the Downtown Fall Festival on October 29. She would like for the Preschool and entire church to pull together and have an entry in this year’s Christmas Parade on December 3. Those who would like to volunteer their time and talents can contact her or the church office for more information.

Children: The children will sing at the care homes on Wednesday, October 21 and during the 11 a.m. worship service, October 25. The Birthday of the King will be December 13 at 6:00 p.m. Volunteers will be needed for the sound/video, as well as with costumes.

55 and Alive: It was reported that 26 attended Bingo last month. Dave Hanson’s wife, Kay, will be signing her new book, Katie’s Picnic Pickle, at Franklin Memorial Library on October 19, from 4-5:00 p.m. and a soup supper will be served in the social hall at 6:00 p.m.

United Methodist Men: Milton Gray reminded everyone that the UMM BBQ fundraiser is Saturday, October 24 from 11-1:00 p.m. The men will meet Friday night from 6-9:00 p.m. to prepare sides and anyone wishing to contribute a pound cake may bring it by during that time. He also reported they recently supported a local mentorship program for at risk kids.

United Methodist Women: The UMW Candle Burning will be held during the 11:00 a.m. worship service on October 18. Just over $500 was collected in donations.

Missions: Wilder Smith announced that the committee would again collect Thanksgiving bags of food this year. Details will be discussed in upcoming Mission Moments.

Music: The Christmas Cantata will be December 20, 2015.

Youth: Rus Black stated he is having lunch with the high school students on Fridays and the youth recently helped with the season change of clothing at the Thriftshop. They will be visiting Freeman Farms on October 18.

Outreach: Daisy Reeves asked that we continue to collect bags for the Weekend Blessings project and will need volunteers to help double bag those we collect.

Pastor: The Cluster Charge Conference went well and the Bishop will be at Pittman Park on October 20. Bro. Scott will begin his new study on Wednesday nights aimed at connecting with God.
